Sobremesa is a noun that refers to both the decorative cover on a table, and the unlimited amount of time that can be spent lingering around it after finishing a meal. "Panza llena, corazón contento", tells us that once an appetite is satisfied, the heart - and therefore, the mind - are about to get satisfied with new conversations and information. Those seasoned in the Sobremesa conversation know that any topic is welcome: the cover story in today's paper , the result of Sunday's match, the new book by the author in vogue, the latest viral video on YouTube ... really, anything and everything.
To participate in the Sobremesa means to start a dialogue, to reflect, to dream, to joke and most importantly, to discuss and ideate.
We want Sobremesa to become a platform of expression for members of the Latino community in Sarah Lawrence College, but also for anyone interested in the current issues in Latin America.
We invite you to join the conversation
